The Institute of Insurance Sales Training (IIST) was founded in 2005 by N. Ashok Kumar. Ashok Kumar was previously the Head of Sales Training at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited.


IIST specializes in coaching for sales performance in life insurance. IIST does not conduct motivational programs. IIST conducts coaching programs for technique mastery and skill transfer. IIST has developed the unique Skills Habits Attitude and Knowledge Training Interventions (SHAKTI) Model of coaching for life insurance sales persons. SHAKTI empowers a sales person to excel and achieve high performance.


Past customers include the Life Insurance Corporation of India, Reliance Life Insurance Company Limited, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited, Tata AIG Life Insurance Company Limited, Postal Life Insurance, Oriental Insurance Company Limited, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited, LICHFL Financial Services Limited and thousands of individual branch managers, development officers/unit managers, agents/advisors who have taken the benefit of IIST coaching at their individual cost.


IIST has coached agents from the highest club of agents in India – called the Corporate Club (in LIC), whose qualification norm is double the MDRT Commission for two consecutive years. IIST has also coached beginners in the field of life insurance selling. IIST has coached Senior Divisional Managers, Marketing Managers, Branch Managers Senior Business Associates and Development Officers of LIC. IIST has also coached Zonal Managers, Regional Managers, Area Managers, Branch Managers and Unit Managers from the private sector. Over the last nearly 7 years, IIST has coached more than 4000 sales persons from agent to senior managers in all channels of distribution in batches of 20 – 30 each.
